'Red Dragon' is a patriotic and home-loving Welsh Dragon, so his mission is to travel around Wales, visiting as many geocaches as possible. Hopefully, this will enable him to stay in every local authority area, while those kind enough to give him lifts may wish to help him collect images to record his travels on his webpage. In 2009, he wants to return to his home cave. If he is dropped off at a cache within 20 miles of Cardiff, he will be able to walk from there.
I would prefer to be moved on quickly, but appreciate that a longer wait can lead to a better move. If you have held on to me for more than 14 days, can send my owners an email to let them know your intentions. Red Dragon has done one tour, but was kidnapped and taken to England and Scotland against his will and didn’t see as much of Wales as he wanted to. After a short stay at home, he got itchy claws (and fed up with the chores and nagging at home) so set off again in April 2006.
There are 22 local authority areas in Wales and these are listed below, with those already visited marked accordingly. Because Powys is so big, it is sub-divided into its three historic counties. Red Dragon obviously prefers to head to the areas that he has not yet visited, but won’t mind seeing those that he has already been to again. The authority areas are:
Anglesey
Blaenau Gwent
Bridgend – already visited
Caerphilly – already visited
Cardiff - home
Carmarthenshire – already visited
Ceredigion – already visited
Conwy – already visited
Denbighshire – already visited
Flintshire – already visited

If you are tempted to take Red Dragon out of Wales, be warned! He has bitter memories of his last excursion across the border and his magic powers can be used quite vindictively, in a childish rather than brutish way. For example, a shower will appear from nowhere just after you have hung out the washing, or you may find yourself treading in dog poo or being targeted by seagulls more often. Treat him nicely, however, and he will behave like a proper gentleman (like not singeing your curtains when he breathes out fire).
