Grab It (Not from a Cache) 3/22/2008 IVHS76 grabbed it   Visit Log

We found it in the Radar enforced cache as the prior post had indicated although it must not have been logged in properly. I will drop it in and out of that cache to correct location so milage can be calculated.

I didn't realize as the cache owner that I could mark it as missing. Another cacher who found this cache sent me the instructions on how to do it.

I'm sorry for any inconvience this has caused you guys. I don't follow the geocoins or things like that, so I didn't realize what the issue was. I've now marked it as missing.

This coin has been missing from South Fork Summit for more than 9 months. f0t0m0m, will you please mark it as missing, so people won't go looking for it here? As the coin's owner, you can do this from the coin's web page: Near the upper right corner, there's a menu labeled "Recalculate distance"; one of the other options is "Mark item missing".
    Thanks.

Based on the logbook entries for South Fork Summit, I think that this coin was taken by Gasquet-guy http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?id=700842 on July 2. His is the only entry after chaosmanor logged it into the cache and before humcoca took the Oregon geocoin. Gasquet-guy has only logged 3 caches on-line (not including this one), and may not be aware that geocoins are supposed to be tracked on-line.
As for the Oregon geocoin, I suspect that it's one of the nontrackable coins, based on the fact that humcoca, who has logged several geocoins, didn't log this one. (Note that humcoca's on-line log is dated July 1, but his logbook entry is dated July 2.)
f0t0m0m, maybe if you send Gasquet-guy an email, he can tell you where your coin is now. If not, could you please move it to Unknown Location so people won't look for it in South Fork Summit? Thanks.

!(@&#*$^%*(&!! Oh, this makes me so damned mad!! ๐Ÿ˜ก We put this geocoin in a cache in the mountains in Northern California in mid-May. Its a really nice hide, with great views of the Trinity Alps country. No one logged a visit until early July; that person said that this geocoin wasn't in the cache. But s/he also said that there was an Oregon geocoin of some sort that was in the cache. Well, that geocoin certainly wasn't in the cache when we found it; we would have taken it. In fact, no Oregon geocoin has ever been logged into that cache! In fact, only two geocoins have ever been logged into it: this one and a Lewis and Clark one, and that was long before this one was put in that cache. So, someone not only took this geocoin and didn't log it, but they also didn't log the find, and they didn't log a different geocoin into the cache. How stupid is this!?! We have to hope that whoever-it-was is one of the "phantom cachers" who never log anything (yes, such people really do exist; we've run into their handiwork in the past), and that this geocoin is in another cache somewhere, waiting to be found. Sure hope so! This is the third geocoin or T-Bug this month that has vanished out of the cache that we put it into ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ Our apologies for picking the wrong cache for this really nice coin ๐Ÿค•
