I recent learned what a googol was from my forth grade son. Everywhere we look there is a geocache, but the number doesn't even approach a googol. A googol is the large number 10 to the 100th power, that is, the digit 1 followed by one hundred zeros. The back of the coin features, The Sand Reckoner, a work in which Archemedies set out to determine the number of grains in the universe. (Similar to us trying to find every geocache in the universe). He settled on a very high number - what amounts to a googol.
