This coin's mission is to travel Ireland and see as much history and wild beauty as it can. It is especially fond of foaming surf, craggy cliffs and the smell of salt air. Is gabhrán é dul ansin. Ba bhreá liom a bheith im chónaí chois fharraige!
This coin was minted in 2009 in Antique Silver by a collection of Central Jersey Geocachers. The front of the coin features the Gold Finch - the state bird of New Jersey - sitting on a pink thistle the finch's favorite snack. The back shows three icons of Central Jersey. To the West we have the "Trenton Makes The World Takes" bridge showing New Jersey's rich history in manufacturing. In the Central we have the Old Mill illustrating our Agricultural past. To the East we see the Sandy Hook Lighthouse which reminds us of New Jersey's maritime importance. These three icons overlay a county/river/stream relief map of Central Jersey which includes the Delaware, Raritan and D&R canal.
