A U.S.A flag key chain with information about Eddy D. Davis. WWII Veteran. A man of honor with faith in God, servitude and great love for his country, love for his family, and admiration for his friends. First in at D-Day invasion of Normandy. Started his own company out of his garage. The Flex-a-lite Corp is now managed by his granddaughter. KEEP HIM FLYING.
This is a travel bug for my father, Eddy D. Davis. Truly of the GREAT GENERATION. Keep him going.
Born September 2, 1918 on a small farm in Oxville, Illinois, Eddy emerged from his humble roots to pilot C-47s in WW II, including flying in the initial wave of the D-Day invasion at Normandy. He wore his “First Into Normandy” cap proudly and took great pleasure from a later private meeting with Winston Churchill. His flying skills were further recognized as he was to be selected as Billy Graham’s pilot on his first visit to the Holy Lands.(SEE IMAGES) After 25 years with the US Air Force, Eddy went on to found Flex-a-Lite Corp. a successful auto parts manufacturing company which, after 45 years remains a Tacoma based family business. Not only was Eddy successful in the military and business worlds, he was also an extraordinary golfer. As one of the original members of Oakbrook Country Club, Eddy “The Iron Man of Oakbrook” remained an active member for over 40 years. Of all Eddy’s many accomplishments, he was by far most proud of and fulfilled by his own family
