Current Goal

This Travel Bug would like visit all the mountains of the United States.  Girl Scout Troop #1677of Leesport, PA- learned about Geocaching, and have placed this bug to take a trip visiting caches near mountains.  Please take a picture of it's trip around the U.S. and post them so the troop can watch the Bug's travels.  Thank you!

    I didn't have time to hike in MT the 20 hours I was there this time, but these photos from a visit in August show one of my favorite places- the Stillwater Gorge in the Beartooth Mountains. also near what I consider the most stunning entrance to Yellowstone National Park - Hwy. 212. Enjoy!

    I did some quick caching during an 18hour trip to Billings Montana, here are some views of that interesting place!

    • The Rims ~ Sandstone cliffs known to locals as "The Rims" are a major geological feature of the city of Billings Montana. This view is not far from the geocache I found.
    • The Beartooth Mountains as seen from Billings MT The Beartooth Mountain range is about an hour away from the city of Billings Montana.

    • Mt. Rainier in the morning - As seen from Browns Point WA at 6:33am. This is the view from my home (not from GC4ZPHB "parking" which is 3 miles from my home). Tomorrow I'll be in Montana, hopefully it will be clear and I can show you more mountains there.
    • Snow coming down near Mt Rainier, 4:16pm - Here's another view from my house (not GC4ZPHB "parking") showing some snow or light rain over my neigborhood. Usually the weather here is 40-50 F during the winter, with cloud cover. On sunny clear days it gets colder, drops into the 30s. We rarely get snow!
