For many visitors to the Reading Public Museum the main attraction is Nfr-ii-n (Nefrina). She is an Egyptian mummy, discovered in 1885, who has resided at the museum since 1930. She is believed to have lived in the ancient city of Akhmin during the rule of Ptolemies. Her father, Irt-Hr-r-w (Irethourrou), was a priest of the God Min (God of Fertility) and her mother, Ir(ty)-r-w (Irty-rou), was a sistrum player for the clergy of the God Min. Coming from a privileged family she was probably well educated and taken care of. At the time of her death, most likely caused by a fractured hip, she was a middle aged woman.
Please help this travel bug on its journey to Egypt and take pictures along the way! This is the first travel bug I am sending out into the world so I'm very excited to see its progress. Happy travels and happy caching!
