The goal of this Travel Bug is for it to visit as many coastal caches as possible in South Africa and abroad. Please download a picture on the Geocaching website of the Bug's new location when placing it.
There are a number of ostrich eggshell beads attached to the Travel Bug. These beads were discovered at a location approximately 50m from the shoreline near Schoenmakerskop, Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
There are a number of 'kitchen middens' in the immediate area. These middens were the assembly point where the Khoisan people (hunter-gatherers) would gather to prepare their shellfish harvest for cooking. There are numerous books available on this subject such as "Shorelines, Strandlopers and Shell Middens" by John Parkington.
