About This Item

The bug

Hi, my name is George. I know I was once in California because that's where my father, The Federal Reserve Board says I came from. But I have no memory of ever being there and have spent the time since stuck in cash drawers, banks, and boring people's wallets.

I would like to return to my home state and travel to many different places. The person who was kind enough to set free (his name is Wild George, wonder if we're related?) tells me that California has hot deserts, cool mountains, beautiful valleys, miles and miles of ocean coastline, big cities, small cities, all kinds of interesting and neat places and I want to see them all. Please help me by first moving me towards California and, once I get there, to all those places I've heard about. Wild George says he's actually been to many of them but would still appreciate seeing pictures of the places I visit. By the way, what's an "amusement park"?

Wild George tells me I will meet a lot of interesting people on my journey (a type of creature known as a "geocacher"). He tells me they are always very nice and will treat me well. He says they will put me in things called "caches" but I won't be afraid or lonely because apparently some other nice geocacher will retrieve me and take me on a new journey. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.

Originally my owner Wild George encouraged people to enter my serial number at www.wheresgeorge.com site but due to new rules and regulations, it's now a bit dicey. If the owner of the Where's George site feels that your entry violates the intent and spirit of Georging, he may delete your account and all your entries with no warning. You should probably read the guidelines for geocaching bills on the Where's George site then decide for yourself.

Thanks for helping me on my journey of discovery.

Collected you after a 30 minute mtn bike ride up hill, in the rain. All this to find bug #278. It was fun, though.

Found George while caching this afternoon. Not headed to California in the near future, but travelling within the week, so will place him somewhere more westerly than Salt Lake! Hope he likes long drives.......
