Again, a very old thing. Still not a building though....
Most wood fossils have been formed by permineralisation, otherwise known as petrification. In the case of the tree root here, it is likely that when this area became submerged with water millions of years ago, sediment would have covered it. Water would have seeped in slowly and rock-like minerals in it gradually replaced the original material to form this fossil. The fossil has the same shape as the original object, but chemically it is more like rock.

OK, so it wasn't an old building, but this TB hasn't moved anywhere for a while.
The stone is really old though, it's a large boulder sitting on its own in the sand here. It would have been transported here by a glacier during one of the ice ages and left behind when the ice disappeared. It's now smooth surface is a result of erosion by the sea rather than by ice.

Having not moved this coin for a while, I thought I would take it to some old things before moving it on into a cache for someone else.
Buddo Rock is likely to have once been part of a much larger sandstone shelf, and the softer stone surrounding it would have been eroded away by the sea to leave this huge formation some distance apart from the rest of the cliffs. The eroded surfaces vary from being crinkly in texture, with crazy swirls and obvious layers, to smoother sections and areas with pitted circular holes. A wide range of colours can also be seen in the structure. In addition, there is a natural arch on the east side which gives Buddo Rock its distinctive appearance.

I've had this coin for a while. I'm really sorry, I lost my GPS and forgot all about this coin.
I'll put it somewhere in the next couple of weeks.

I took the coin to Tattershall Castle, but didn't have the time to drop it off in caches nearby (also, the nearest one wasn't very near!)
Tattershall Castle’s is a medieval castle, built in the 1440s by Lord Cromwell, however, it wasn’t the first castle to stand on this site. An earlier stone castle was built by Robert de Tateshale in the early 13th century. Many carved stone remnants from this lost castle can still be seen on local houses.

Retrieved from Old Warden.
I shall take advantage of my National Trust membership and take it to a nice stately home somewhere.

Apologies for the long delay in placing this travel bug but unavoidable commitments have prevented any caching for a while. Your TB is now just about overlooking Shuttleworth College in Bedfordshire which is one of my favourite buildings in the area:
