I started on my way downtown to show the Candy Cane the "Concrete Canyons" down in the skyscraper rich downtown area. Alas, I got hungry and got sidetracked over to Chinatown here in Chicago so that's where this batch of pictures comes from. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for sharng your geocoin and allowing me to participate in it's race.

The airline messed up my reservations to go to Atlantic City, NJ this last weekend so here are the new travel plans I have for the Candy Cane. On Wednesday we'll be heading to Michigan for 6 days, then it's back to Chicago to await going to Myrtle Beach, SC on 4 - 8 April. From there it's back to Chicago for 3 or 4 days then we'll be off to St. Louis. MO and the Arch for a 1 day caching trip. If I can find a cache in St. Louis that I believe is secure I'll leave it in a cache there for somebody else to enjoy moving. If I don't find a suitable cache there then I know of a really good secure cache right near downtown Chicago with lots of visitors that I can leave it at.

  • At the Double Li Restaurant. Your Candy Cane and a couple of it's traveling companions joining me for a delicious meal of pot stickers, rice and sweet and sour shrimp in Chinatown here in Chicago, IL.

  • A store we stopped in to look around and shop. It's not a trip to Chinatown for me without doing a little shopping in the gift and novelty stores. Most of it's junky quality, but sometimes you can find a small gem that is worth taking home.

Since most of the "subways" here in Chicago are elevated above ground we just refer to them as "L's" regardless of whether they are elevated 3 stories above ground or 2 stories underground.

  • Our destination! This is the John Hancock building we were going to visit. We'll be going up to the Observation Deck on the 94th floor to get a little different view of Chicago.

To the right of that is the Sears tower which has two spires on the top of it. It's not only the tallest building in Chicago, but in the entire western hemisphere.

Your geocoin is in Chicago, IL now. Tonight I'll post the one picture I took of the area I retrieved the geocoin from down in Atlanta. Tomorrow I'll post some pictures of it here in downtown Chicago, IL that I took yesterday. Sorry I'm a little slow with getting the pictures all updated. Within a few days I'll take it back downtown again and get a few more pictures of it here in Chicago. Thank you for sharing your geocoin. From here it's on to Atlantic City, NJ then back to Chicago then to Michigan and finally on I think 4-4-11 I'll take it down to Myrtle Beach, SC and release it for somebody else to enjoy moving along. I hope you enjoy the pictures. 🙂
