Current Goal

Stewey's mission is to visit all 50 United States. He is a big fan of adventure and would like to accompany groups on their outdoor adventures. He particularly likes hiking, camping, kayaking, biking, surfing and rock climbing. He clips easily to backpacks, doesn't eat much and never complains. He is the perfect trip companion. Specific places Stewey has said he'd like to explore : the Grand Canyon, Alaska and Mt Washington (NH).

Stewey began his journey in Dover New Hampshire, set free by members of the Dover Teen Center's Adventure program. We would love to see the adventurous side of the United States through Stewey's eyes (does he even have eyes?), so take some pictures if Stewey tags along on your adventures. He likes real adventure and not wimpy touristy stuff. Don't worry, he's a moose, he can handle the tough stuff.

Stewey had a short, but steep hike along the AT, than a bushwack through some dense mtn laurel. He's ready for more fun!

After visiting the Higby Hobble, we grabbed Stewey to bring him to the Higby Hotel to spend some time with some other bugs.

  • Stewey the elk?? Stewey had some amazing climbing abilities. I think maybe he was part elk. He had no trouble climbing on the high cliffs above Mt. Higby.

Today we took Stewey on a high speed aventure ride in a bass fishing boat. He seemed to have a good time and even wanted to try a little fishing. Unfortunately, we had no luck and didn't catch anything.

  • Stewey Fishing Stewey is really adventureous and wanted to try his hand (err, hoof?) at fishing. He did pretty well and even wanted to go swimming. Of course, I forgot how well moose swim.
  • Stewey and a 6 year old Stewey is not like most moose and is very kid-friendly. Here's a picture of him hanging out with a 6 year old.
