Antje wants to travel to the Black Forest in Germany to find another cuckoo to share her chain before she comes back to Nebraska.

About This Item

Antje is a Black Forest Cuckoo. She has a sister, Gretje, and two brothers, Hans and Jochim. Antje has spent many years on a cuckoo clock in Bennet, Nebraska. She got tired of that little bird popping out of the door every half hour and yelling ‘cuckoo’. She heard tales of the journeys of her brothers who had traveled to Germany. Antje longed for another cuckoo to share her life with.

Finally she managed to escape. She decided that the best place to find this special companion would be back in the Black Forest in southern Germany. She grew up in a nest there many years ago before being sent to the United States in a box.

Now that Antje is free to travel, she is eager to get on her way. Her dream goal is, of course, to make it to the Black Forest, find that companion, and then return to Bennet. She realizes that this is a very big dream and may take help from many people. Along the way though, she would like to visit some of the best German Fests that she can find.
