My aim is to travel around the world being photographed at locations where other notorious outlaws carried out their evil deeds.
Dick Turpin was a notorious British highwayman who robbed people in the area of Epping Forest east of London in England. Later in his life, to avoid capture, he moved north where he was arrested for his ungentlemanly attitude after killing a cock. He was then recognised for who he was and convicted for horse thieving and hanged on York Knavesmire on 7th April 1739. Though horse theft carried the death penalty at the time, it was not the normal sentence. It is thought that Dick Turpin was executed for the offence more to avoid the necessity of sending him to London to stand trial for crimes for which he would undoubtedly hang rather than specifically for the horse theft itself. The TB is a horse brass depicting Dick Turpin and his legendary ride from York to London on his horse Black Bess. There is little evidence to support Dick Turpin ever having made this famous ride, the story first appearing in work of fiction. If the ride ever did take place, it is more likely to have been undertaken by another highwayman Quick Nick who is said to have made the ride to successfully establish an alibi for a crime that he had committed elsewhere.

😉 Some nefarious caching done in the middle of the night probably does not count, but Dick Turpin had fun anyway.

😉 2150 This has been sitting at Wingham Brush watching a few misdeeds done, but nothing too blood curdling! Going further than the Manning Valley now.
