My favorite outdoor experience #1/6

This coin is one of 6 that I will send out on the mission of going to places where I have enjoyed great outdoor experience. I hope this will inspire some of you to go for similar experiences in my favorite places. And I would love if you would tell me about your own favorite outdoor experiences. The person, who takes the coins to the destination and log the visit, may keep the coin. But it would be more fun if the “winner” gives the coin a new mission: reaching his/her favorite outdoor destination.

This coin is bound for Sydra Langholt, Iceland. There is a horse rental. Go for at ride! In 2008-2012 I spend a week every august trail riding with scout friends. Extra credit if you can catch a photo of Simmi – the owner – and give him my best regards.

Coast Alive

Coast Alive is an EU-project under Interreg IVB North Sea Programme, which shall inspire and develop outdoor activities in the North Sea Region. The project supports the establishing of active and authentic experiences connected to nature, the landscape and the cultural heritage in the area.

Coast Alive is a partnership between 14 regions from 5 countries around the North Sea. The project builds on the great experiences and results of two previous North Sea projects – the North Sea Trail and the North Sea Cycle Route – a walking trail and a cycle route around the North Sea coast. In total almost 12.000 km of paths along the North Sea coast in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, England and Scotland.

Coast Alive is about using the trails for recreational purposes – all year round and as often as possible! It is about preserving our cultural heritage and making accessible the North Sea Region’s riches of authentic experiences. It is about developing outdoor life, marketing the opportunities and attracting new visitors. But it is also about developing the coastal areas economically, improving the quality and number of facilities along the trails, and to strengthen the region’s reputation as a leading supplier of active outdoor experiences.
