After 11 months on the road (originating in Illinois), “Erik’s Travel Bug” and “Julie’s Travel Bug” were re-united at a cache site in the deserts of Arizona. Together, they had traveled over 9,000 miles on different trails, different directions, only to cross paths far from home--how cool! Now, it is time for them to go their separate ways, to see new sights, meet new friends and put on some more miles. "Julie's" short-term goal is to travel more miles than "Erik's". One day they will be re-united again in another location. View "Erik's Travel Bug" at: (visit link)
The Travel Bug is a older-model VW Beetle, just like I used to have. I had a light blue 1967 model with a sunroof, and it was a great car. It had well over 100,000 miles on it when I bought it. The long term goal of this "Julie's Travel Bug" is to exceed 100,000 miles. Take this bug on vacation with you and drop it off, or just move it quickly from local site to site.
Happy trails!

Exchanged Erik's Travel bug for Julie's Travel Bug. After travelling about 3300 and 5300 miles respectively, they have finally reached their goal of reuniting! I'm very glad to have been a part of the reunion. And, the reunion took place at one of my caches!
I see that JTB hasn't seen much of this fine state, so I'll just release it around here. The other option is a trip to New England, where it has already spent months. Arizona it is...LazyK - Dan

Just using this cache as a virtual travel bug exchange, as both Lost Tribe and us have found this cache earlier. Ditto for the second travel bug that is in the cache at the moment. But Julie's Travel Bug is now in Arizona.

Snagged this VW Bug from Boiling Spring Bypass. It reminds me of the Love Bug my brother owned in the 70s and with which my then infant daughter loved at first site, thus beginning a long love affair with dimunitive cars.
Julie's TB will hang out with us for a while, and then she'll hit the road in style.
Thanks for the fun
Lost Tribe
