Today was the day of the rehearsal of the 2012 Olympic Cycling event. I took Aotearoa along to photograph it along the route and drop off in a cache only 20 or 30 feet from the road where the route passed. We went to Box Hill, where during the Olympics, the cyclists will do the ten mile loop eight times in the race, today they only did two, but gave plenty of opportunity to take some pics with Aotearoa in them with potential Olympic Champions. Much as I would have liked to get the likes of Mark Cavendish (today's winner and current Tour de France Green Jersey champion) in the pics, the cyclists were simply going too fast, but I've done the best I can.

  • Aotearoa and a cyclist's drink bottle First time the peleton went through, I was hit by a drinks bottle thrown by one of the cyclists. I picked this up and took a photo with just the bottle and the TB
  • Aotearoa and an Olympic cyclist This cyclist was a minute or so behind the main peleton first time through.
  • Aotearoa and the leaders Race Car The bright flashing lights of the Race Car and the sun over the pub distorts this a bit, but the TB is pretty clear!
  • Off to where Aortearoa now rests! The main peleton of the Olympic Trial cycle race are just about to pass where Aotearoa was placed!
