And here is the good news! I found the little dog at "one for the kids" (it has been in a plastic container inside the cache box). So everything is fine 😁 .

Since there are only a few caches in the Shanghai area, where this can be put without getting lost, I think it's a good idea to make a little tour through Europe! What do you think? So come on!

Derek,

Don't worry. Your Travel Bug was not muggled. It has been traveling with me in China. I discovered it in a Community Education class I taught. The Travel Bug has traveled with me from Baker Park and all the way to Shanghai in China. It has traveled with me to Puta Shan, Zhoushan, Shanghai, Shaoxing, Hongzhou, and Ningo. It has has been in my classroom everyday as I have been teaching English in China at Yuyao Experimental school just west of Ningbo. The students have loved the story of it and the pics I have been taking with my students. I have had your instructions translated into Chinese by my teaching assistant over here. I laminated your original note along with new typed up instructions in Chinese. I have put it in a water bottle to seal it and keep it safe. I am climbing Baoshi Mountain to hopefully drop it off, as long as I can find it. Baoshi Mountain is just west of famous West Lake and the Grand Canal. I will then be traveling to Shanghai again and to the World Expo. The geocaches I have researched there have a high muggle percentage so I don't want to leave it there. Hopefully I am successful at Baoshi Mountain. Sorry for not logging the Travel Bug right away. I was busy teaching with community ed. I have been teaching 6 days a week in China and not had quality Internet service. I head back to the states 8/12 then I can log where I left it. Then just a few weeks until school starts! I think your Flame has traveled farther than Jordan's Buddy!

Take care!

P.S. I wish I could upload some pics for you to see!

8/7/10 - Update: So Baoshi Mountain did not work out. I had a 2 1/2 hour window to leave my hotel, climb the mountain, find the geocache, climb back down, and get back to my hotel for departure to Shanghai. A friend of mine, who teaches in Beijing, came with me to scope out the area at night. We found where the mountain was to get a head start for the morning. We set out at 5AM. We climbed up one large hill, down another, then up another. It was so hot and the humidity was brutal. I was literally soaking wet and it was a brutal climb because we had a fast space. We got within .08 miles of the cache location and had to give up to get up so we wouldn't miss our departure time to Shanghai. I was so bummed and didn't want to give up and have a DNF. If I was only on my schedule and not a whole groups, it would have been successful. It was hard to turn my back and throw in the towel. So much work and sweat to not make it. But the Travel Bug enjoyed the trip. I got a pick of it on the mountain with West Lake in the background.

8/8/10 - I am now in Shanghai. Derek's Flame and I went to the World Expo and stood long in the lines many times. I snapped some pics here as well. It was amazing!

8/9/10 - Went to Old Town Shanghai and Yuan Garden. Then I went and did some shopping on Ninjang Road on the Bund side of the river. We were hoping to fit some geocaching in but time and location did not work. Tomorrow I am setting out to drop it off. Going to take a tour of the city on the river, go to the Urban Planning Museum, and do some geocaching somewhere in there. Pics will be taken!
