I discovered this trackable at a Geocaching event near Colorado Springs, Colorado. The event was a potluck chili contest and it has been held every year for the last 8 years. This year's challenge included 15 different types of homemade chili: red chili, vegetarian chili, with beans, without beans, and green chili (my favorite).
The green chiles are grown and harvested in Pueblo, Colorado, about 30 miles south of Colorado Springs. Every year in September, the city of Pueblo puts up barricades to close all the downtown streets and prepares for a 3 day chile festival. This is when all the local farmers bring in truckloads of green chiles and roast them by the bushel to be sold freshly roasted. This is a very fun event and the smell of freshly roasted green chiles is one of the first signs that Fall has arrived.
