I found this on a business trip to Virginia from Colorado. Having read it's mission, I thought I'd give a bit of background about my home city of Colorado Springs.
Colorado Springs is the second largest city in Colorado, with about 400,000 people. It's the home of the US Air Force academy, as well as a large army base and several smaller air force bases. It's located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, with massive peaks to the west and flat plains to the east. Towering above the city is Pikes Peak, one of 53 '14ers' in Colorado over 14,000 feet elevation.
Geocaching is a major activity in Colorado. In face, I know another teacher who also incorporates geocaching into her curriculum. Maybe it would be worth having your class contact hers? Her geocaching account name is 'thebobcats', and information about the club she runs can be found at http://www.thegeocachekids.com/.
Thanks and good luck!
