Retrieve It from a Cache 3/15/2009 4ccnhikers retrieved it from The Fifty States Alabama Maine   Visit Log

From Arkansas to Alabama all in one day! Actually, this cache was more like acrobatics in Alabama - the snowbanks here in Maine have melted a lot, but they're still higher than the guardrail this cache is in - some passers by must have wondered what AmeriBear was doing! He's trying to figure out why there's snow in Alabama! We hope AmeriBear's owners don't mind him visiting a few more fifty state caches in Maine - plans have been made for him to take a long trip to a real state faraway in five weeks. "Til then, we still have a few more state caches to find. D&P

There's no place like home(world) - there's no place like home(world)! Pretty snowy when this picture was taken!

  • AmeriBear at Homeworld #2 The snow was falling fast and furious while AmeriBear was visiting the Homeworld series of caches.

Retrieve It from a Cache 2/21/2009 4ccnhikers retrieved it from The Fifty States Iowa Maine   Visit Log

We started the day with 97 finds, and decided to tour "Iowa" with AmeriBear on our way to 100. Not an easy task here in Maine in the winter - - AmeriBear tried to go to "Colorado" and "New York" first, but alas, they were buried in too much snow. The Iowa cache is an easy grab when there's no snow, we suspect, but as you can see in the photo, we made this visit on snowshoes.

  • AmeriBear in "Iowa" This really is a great series of caches honoring the fifty states. We'll visit some more soon.

Retrieve It from a Cache 2/15/2009 4ccnhikers retrieved it from The Fifty States Mississippi Maine   Visit Log

We logged AmeriBear into and out of this cache since he wants to visit all 50 states, but seems to be stuck here in Maine for the winter. So why not visit some of the 50 states right here in Maine in the meantime? He's too big to leave in this cache, however, so a visit and photo will have to do! Maine's Mississippi cache even has a beautiful river, just like the real state! (see photo) There are a lot more states in this series that we haven't found yet, so we'll plan to visit some more soon. 4ccnhikers D&P
