Yippeee!!! I did it! I needed to make a run down to the big city. (I live about 50 mile north.) After completing my errand, I decided to see if I could find my way to the right spot to get some photos. I have a slight sense of the area, and thought, with the help of my iPhone, I might be able to get close. I picked a direction, but ran into some construction detours. Wandered around a bit. Knew I was getting close, and spotted a place I thought I could stop in briefly to check my phone. After conferring with the "smart" phone, decided I might be able to hop out, and take a look around. Walked about a 100' down the street, passing by a large concrete wall, and what I saw stopped me in my tracks! It was exactly what I was looking for. I couldn't believe it! That was almost like it was "meant" to happen!! Ran back to the truck, grabbed Macon and my phone, and zoomed back. Just I got in a good spot, a local pd car rolled by (there was a traffic light intersection at this spot). I held my breath, hoping they wouldn't notice my truck, because I'm PRETTY SURE it wasn't legally parked. They headed off in the opposite direction from my truck (WHEW). I quickly snapped the photos, and dashed back to my truck. So, now I just need to get Macon dropped off for his trip back home.

  • Macon Motorblade makes it to Joe Louis!! I didn't even realize I snapped the photo with the local PD in the frame until I'm sitting here to post the photo. Go figure! I guess you call that "focused on the goal." No pun intended!
  • Macon views a Detroit iconic monument Snapped a quick pic of "the fist" as I was heading out of town. This monument is actually a dedication to Joe Louis, which the arena is named after.
  • Macon views the Ren Cen This is the GM Renaissance Center. The center tower is the tallest building in Michigan, and the tallest all hotel building in the western hemisphere. I am an electrician and actually worked in one of the towers last year.

  • Macon and Tatzi near Canada The flags in the background are on the Canadian side of the St. Clair River, just north of the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, MI.
  • Macon and Tatzi check out Lake Huron This photo is near the end of the St. Clair River, where it flows into Lake Huron. That's the lake behind the 2 TB's.
  • Macon and Tatzi enjoying the views In the background is the U.S. side of the Blue Water Bridge, in Port Huron, MI, that crosses over to Canada, along with several local monuments.
