Current Goal

It's all in the name. Part 1 of the Red group of the Red & Green Series.

Seen the inventiveness of some fellow cachers in finding excuses for not dealing with trackables as should be and agreed to when creating an account here, it was about time to offer a chance, free of all hassles, to snatch a coin without a brain-wrecking, mind-boggling, tedious-exhaustive exercise included (but you are welcome to log a note in case you feel like ranting over a lost trackable).

The down-point of this bargain: The icon will be omitting from your list.

It is a bit strange: Proudly logging a "Found" does not seem to be a problem at all. Why's that <img src=

Btw, the owner of this coin is still the fellow indicated at the top of the page (the name following "owner").
If you keep it, squadrons of Ninja ticks will hunt and get you.

About This Item

Liar front

A collection of what happened in 2010 - it's not the "newbies" only:
  • "Hey, cool coin/TB. I found it, so of course it is mine now and will be included in my collection. If the owner doesn't like this, it is his own fault. He shouldn't have had placed the thing in a cache in the first place" (words fail me);
  • "We are new to game and don't know what Log me on geocaching.com means". (Well... where did you get the coordinates from, hmmm?)
  • "We are new to the game and don't know what to do" (Hint A: Read the mission tag. Hint B: You use Google to search for whatever-crazy-thing-one-can-think-of? Try the engraved number. Hint C: Try clicking the word "Trackable" on the far left. Hint D: Try clicking the word "Forums" on the far left.);
  • "Logging our actions on GC.com? Why on earth should we do this? There are enough others who will tell you about your trackable" (Hum... you don't have any trackables of your own, do you?);
  • "We decided to read the mission tag only after having boarded the plane to the other side of the world" (No comment);
  • "We decided to ignore the mission note because we were in such a hurry to find the caches we needed, we could not spend five seconds to check the tag. We will drop the coin somewhere. For sure somebody else will take care to correct our mistake" (Yeah... somebody. Don't own any trackables yourself, do you? Wait ... why then the plead to take good care of your son's coin on MY coin's page?);
  • "We decided to ignore the mission note because the mission is boring" (Well, it might be interesting for the owner, don't you think? Get your own trackable out on the road, please);
  • "We decided to ignore the mission note because completing the mission is boring" (See above, please);
  • "We decided to ignore the mission note because we simply refuse to care even after being contacted" (Words fail me);
  • "I do too many caches a day to remember any details so please do not expect from me to keep track of what I took from where I really do not have the time to care or include in my logs what I took or saw" (So you're a Power cacher, are you? Get your fingers off the trackables, then, if you can't do the job properly);
  • "The coincount is adding nothing to the statistics next to my name so why should I care logging a retrieve or drop I just grab what looks cool and then throw it in the back of the kitchen drawer" (Must be quite big, that drawer);
  • "Why should I check my or the cache's inventory when logging a cache as found?" (Hint: Because it might give you a hint of what you took or left);
  • "The kids fell in love with / misplaced the coin and we really do not care making a fuss about it with them" (The concept of "What's yours, what's mine" hasn't been discussed in your family, yet, has it?);
  • "We want to do perfect geocaching, that means completing the entire mission on our own, even if we do not go anywhere near the place the mission mentions" (You think that staying put on your desk for months is interesting to watch for the owner? Include some photos of this desk, at least, please);
  • "We are looking for the perfect cache to drop the coin, even if it takes months to find it. To not to spoil the coin's page, we do not log it to other caches we find in the meantime. As we do not own a GPS-device, we don't find many caches" (Why being egoistic with  keeping the trackables for ages, then? Drop them off at the first suitable place. You will not only make the owner happy but also fellow cachers, who can actually contribute to the mission);
  • not answering mails (Check your spam filter. Having a working address will enable others to get into contact with you, regarding YOUR stuff);
  • dropping trackables in caches not listed on GC.com. (Why is this annoying? It is impossible to follow all sites, some of them are not even open for everybody to join/view. Getting to know the status is impossible);
  • dropping trackables in TB hotels. (Why is this annoying? These are no hotels, but prisons, prone to be raided);
  • dropping trackables on a huge pile/bucket/canoe/trunk of car/.... during events. (Why is this annoying?Nobody feels responsible, trackable will get lost);
  • dropping trackables in caches at remote places, with an above average D/T rating or night caches, all with an exceptional low found rate. (Why is this annoying? For sure cool to have on the found list for the cacher. However, 11 "Founds" within 2 years: Would YOU leave your OWN TB or coin there?);
  • dropping trackables in caches at seasons' end of accessibility/visitors looking for it (Why is this annoying? The TB or coin will sit there for half a year);
  • removing the sleeve and the mission tags before dropping in a cache (Why is this annoying? Take an educated guess, will you?);
  • taking the trackable out of the cache once it has reached it's goal (Why is this annoying? You really, really do not know?);
  • including the tracking number in logs/pictures = the number engraved (Why is this annoying? Anybody having knowledge of this number can log a trackable, even if he does not have it physically in his hands);
  • grabbing a trackable too quickly. (Why is this annoying? You own a mobile phone with all features being online 24/7? Terrific, congratulations. Can you imagine that there are people, who are less addicted to internet? Think: might the previous owner be on holiday without internet access? Contact the previous holder before doing so! Contact the owner, if there is no response within a reasonable time. Reasonable time = how much time would you prefer to get? If grabbing seems to be necessary, don't forget to drop the trackable into the cache you found it, to keep the route of the coin intact!).

Why might all of the above would be recieved as annoying, in general?
..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ?
Right! It stops the trackable from what it is meant to do: TRAVEL. Exceptions possible. Read the mission tag.

And it's not on the finding end of the game only.
I do care about this coin and do not regard it as "thrown into the garbage bin" the moment it is placed in its first cache.
This on many a forum promoted attitude might contribute to the loss of coins: Some owners declare to not to care about their trackables anyway and to be not interested in checking out the page for the logs and/or pictures. Confirming not-logging as acceptable behaviour?
Why should any cacher then go to lengthy efforts, writing a nice log or add pictures? Not to talk about logging it properly, in the first place.

Owners, setting out their stuff without a mission-tag, but expecting everybody supporting to reaching the goal... and then being upset their trackables wanders off to the wrong direction.  Big annoyance for the finder. At the moment I am not decided yet if those with a tag should just left behind and only be "discovered" with the text "If only the mission had been known... then I could have had taken it to a wonderful place". During the last week I came across ten (!) without a tag, but specific missions, and one (!) with a tag. The excuse "ohhhhh - we are new and don't know" doesn't catch here. Just think a little bit ahead: What would YOU prefer to get to know when finding one of those, hmmmmm????

Owners, setting out their fragile and/or not-water-resistant stuff without any protection. Think ahead: Is a cache-box always dry inside? How do you transport the trackables you find - in a cushioned box or your pocket/backpack? Would you take a moldy, dirty trackable along?

During the last six months 15 trackables have been thoroughly cleaned and placed in bags and eleven have been foreseen of mission-tags - both after having contacted the owners first, of course. However, the question is: If they do not care, why should anybody else care?
