I love to cook, and smell fresh baked goods. Sometimes I even snatch some goodies after my mom make them. I would love to see some pictures with your favorite goodies. Just keeping me moving from cache to cache. You can always share your favorite recipes if you wish. Here is my favorite cookie recipe for you.
Paige's cutout sugar cookies
1 C. Butter
1/2 tsp. Almond extract 1 tsp. Cream of Tartar 1-1/2 C. Confectioners sugar
2-3/4 C. Flour 1 tsp. Vanilla extract 1 Egg nbsp; 1 tsp. Baking Soda
Directions: 1. In Lg bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in egg, vanilla and almond extract. Mix well. 2.In a Md. bowl, combine remaining dry ingredients. Mix dry ingredients into the butter mixture until well mixed. Divide dough at into thirds and shape into balls. 3. Working with 1/3 of dough at a time, roll out dough into desired thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut out cookies into desired shapes. 4. Place each piece separately on an ungreased cookie sheet 1-2 inces apart. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees until lightly browned. (7-8 minutes for 1/4 thick cookies) Cool completely on wire rack and frost with Paige's frosting below.
Paige's frosting
1 C. Confectioners sugar 1/4 tsp. almond extract 2 tsp. milk
3-4 drops food coloring 2 tsp. light corn syrup
Directions: 1. In a sm. bowl, stir together confectioners sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and almond extract until icing is smooth and glossy. If icing is too thick, add more milk. 2. Divide frosting into separate bowls, and add food coloring to each to desired intensity. 3. Paint cookies with brush or spread on with butter knife.
