A Pirates Life for Me

This Geocoin would like to visit anywhere nautical, caches near the sea, or islands.

This Geocoin first started its travels at Steep Holm, a remote island set 5 miles off of Weston-super-Mare, and was taken there by the way of 2 kayaks bolted together with a small petrol engine.  If anyone has any travel tales of how they moved this coin on then please write what happened.

Our trip to Steep Holm ended in a bit of disaster!... We had set out early morning in a bad mist, yet perfectly calm seas.  The currents were strong being that the Bristol Channel has the 2nd largest tidal range in the world.  On the day it was a tide of 12m, so there was quite a pull against our small engine and lightweight kayaks.  We then arrived at Steep Holm throught the mist and placed this coin into 'Steep Holm here we come!' event .
On our return leg we hit some fierce waves head on, and battled tide and currents in all angles, but finally got onto waves that began to carry us back to Weston.  However 2 miles from our landing point we started to take on water from somewhere and began to sink from the rear of the raft.  The engine spluttered to a halt and began to get submerged and we started to be pulled down into the water backwards.  After a quick call to the RNLI 1.5m in front of us, I bailed out and shifted my weight to the front of the boats.  Soon we were scooped from the water with RNLI help and were back on dry land with our boats following behind.

Although it wasn't the best trip, we managed to get this coin safely to steep holm and had a story to tell.  So it would be good for others to also share any nautical or coastal stories this coin may pick up on its travels!
