Current Goal

I want to visit as many guiding countries as I can, collecting pictures and logs as proof as I gosmiley.  I really enjoy all aspects of guiding but especially camping, so to be a part of your camp would really be a highlight of my travels cool

About This Item

logo-banner_01

Just 100 hundred years ago, a group of girls helped change the opportunities they had when they joined the first Scout Rally at Crystal Palace on 4th September 1909.  Their presence moved Robert Baden Powell to start the sister movement to the Scouts, the Guides in 1910.  As with the birth of Scouting on Brownsea Island in 1907, it did not take long for the Guiding movement to spread across the whole world, with current WAGGGS' (the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) figures standing at just over 10 million members.

This was given as a gift from a Canadian friend that we met at Our Chalet in 2009.  Since then, she has been inspired to get geocaching herself--so this geocoin to mark Guiding's Centenary year from Canada's No. 1 girl guide, shewsta , certainly has made my yearlaugh
