Current Goal

Alan 2 is making his way. If you find the original Alan (with the metal tag) which has been assumed lost, please do not log it, but contact me.

Alan prefers to travel BY GROUND even though he is an Apollo astronaut, so please don't move him more than about 200 miles. He does have lofty goal though: to visit the NASA Johnson Space Center, then move on to Kennedy Space Center. Please take pictures of him with space-related things/places and post them.

About This Item

Alan is named after the Apollo 12 astronaut and artist Alan Bean. He started at the NASA Ames gift shop, so has visited there, and would like to visit a few other NASA Centers:

Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX and
Kennedy Space Center, FL.

He has been to TX, FL, and OH, so has been doing more traveling than just visiting Johnson and Kennedy, but hasn't been to VA yet, so hasn't visited NASA Langley yet.

After his travels he would like to return to the SF Bay Area and, well, me.

So I got this TB at Geowoodstock yesterday and after I found out it's goal, realized that I would have a hard time helping him out.

Knowing that there is a cache next door to my in-laws in Russell, PA, and figuring there would be heavy traffic at the cache today due to Geowoodstock, I decided to ask around. As luck would have it, the first vehicle that pulled up was a family of cachers from Maryland that owns a TB hotel. Well, Alan(the TB) want's to get to Norfolk, Virginia.

PERFECT!!!!!

He is on his way.

Has this TB reached it's Florida goal yet?

We exchanged for this one at Geowoodstock today. We can either point him south toward Florida or west toward California. Let know and we will get him back into play ASAP.
