Each piece of this Get Outdoors - Campfire Series wants to warm itself near your fire as it travels from cache to cache exploring the great outdoor opportunities each season has to offer.
This travel bug is the first of an ever expanding series designed to captures the spirit of Scouting’s outdoor experiences. In the outdoors youth have the opportunity to acquire skills that make them more self-reliant. They can explore hiking trails, sharpen map and compass skills, or take a canoe trip while completing challenges they thought were beyond their reach.
Throughout the ages, campfires have provided not only a means to cook a meal and provide warmth and protection, but also a social gathering center. At the close of the evening meal, early man told tall tales of the hunt, performed songs and dances, and told legends of their forefathers. Today, as we gather around our own campfires with our youth, we span the years between our generations as we share our own campfire songs, skits, and sharing of stories.
One of the highlights of an evening campfire is perfectly toasting their own marshmallow, placing it on a wedge of chocolate and carefully sandwiching it between two graham crackers to create a gooey treat. The S’mores Original collection is a fun way to share this favorite pastime.
Did you ever watch the campfire
...When the wood has fallen low,
And the ashes start to whiten
...Round the embers' crimson glow?
Tell me, were you ever nearer
...To the land of heart's desire
Than when you sat there thinking
...With your face turned toward the fire?
