Cachers - this is a tough assignment. You have to go online or to the library and figure out where this should travel to - any cache near where Co. K, 1st Regiment, U.S. Dragoons, or its descendent Company or Troop K, 1st of the 1st Cavalry fought, traveled or was posted within the United States. http://musketoon.com is a good general source to help you figure things out!
Be sure to take and post photos of caches related to or near 1st Dragoon routes, battle sites and posts. Photography is critical to this mission.
Crossed sabers of U.S. Cavalry was an insignia authorized in 1851 when they were still 1st and 2nd regiments, U.S. Dragoons - they became Cavalry at the outbreak of the Civil War.
