Nice hide in a neat destination... I checked out the relics and snooped around the area for more. 😁
Sue, I and our 12 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois Pepper took the well worn single track up from the Whitney Canyon Trail. My provided waypoint marks the trailhead where we crossed over. 😉
Perfect weather today for this fun little cache hunt (about 1 mile RT from Whitney Canyon Park). The cache is in perfect condition (I tapped before... ___). Signed the log book and dropped off a pathtag. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there. 😛

It is closing in on fourteen years ago now, Thursday, 26 February 2004, since I last embarked into this historic location. The area was a whole lot greener back then but outside of that, Beale's Cut looks about the same today. 😎
The challenges travelers faced, just a few decades ago, to laboriously move vehicles distances that would be considered miniscule by today's standards, is very impressive. 👍
The biggest challenge for me was the last few steps to the cache... like storming a castle but ultimately, once conquered, a great place to sit and take in the view. 😛

I looked in the wrong spot at first... and judging by all the footprints, I think somebody else had already been there thoroughly scouring through that very same spot (I wonder who that could have been?). 😉
Then I expanded my search and tried a different spot... Bingo!!! 😛
I retrieved the Canadian Flag Micro Geocoin. 😎

10,510 ft. - 10:55am. Awesome view! 😛
The last time I was up here was 1980, and that was on back country skies (late spring/early summer). I remember that day all too well as I was in shorts and no shirt and, in spite of applying lots of lotion, I got one heck of a sunburn. 🤭
Thanks for motivating me to get back up here this morning (I hiked up from Lake George)... I'd forgotten just how awesome this view really is!!! 😁
Traded three pathtags for a turtle. 😛
