Dropped Off 8/6/2010 sunnyside7 placed it in Pennies From Heaven Washington - 2.2 miles  Visit Log

I came to Green Lake this evening for the memorial event "From Hiroshima To Hope" http://www.wingluke.org/hth10/ which was just getting underway only a few hundred feet from here. My niece works for one of the peace activist groups that come here.
Even with all the people on the path tonight, this cache is in a great spot for not attracting the attention of muggles (also a refreshingly beautiful spot.) The cache is a log sheet only, so few muggles would bother muggling it anyway.
After signing the log I walked over to the event and met my niece, and checked out the various activities and information booths. I then took a peaceful walk around the lake, returning before sunset for the final parts of the program before the launching of hundreds of lanterns into the water.

Coming to Green Lake for the big event at the NW corner, From Hiroshima To Hope, and found parking on the SW side. I checked my GPS and saw that I was very close to the Bottom of Green Lake. I walked over and dove right into the task, and actually found the cache at the bottom of Green Lake.
And before the night was over, I had circumnavigated the entire lake shoreline. I see why this is such a popular place.
This was my 1250th find, so I guess I'm halfway to 2500.
