Converted for training purposes and re-designated TB-17G, it was based at Wright Field, Ohio from November that year, 2750th Air Base Group.

1949 - ‘784 served as research vehicle, allocated EB-17G status

1954 - ‘784 was returned to standard configuration, less armaments, Hill AFB in Utah

November 1954 - Institut Geographic National in France purchased ‘784, she got French registration F-BGSR, based at Creil.
