Clover, sorry about the long delay in placing you. When I picked you up last August, I intended to drop you off at Pirates Gone Fishing in a day or two. Who knew what would happen in those two days?

But now you're safe at the lake and waiting for someone else to pick you up and help you through this world.

Captbob, I sincerely apologize for holding onto Clover for so long. I had a spell of bad health last fall and have only recently been able to venture outdoors.

My wife and I loved having Clover spend time with us and we hope to see him again soon.

As soon as I opened that gold ammo box, Clover popped out and darn near ran over me. I guess he was tired of being so close to hell (aka Gate City) ;).

I think Clover will enjoy the cool mountains of Virginia. He'll fit in with the hillbillies of Wise County.

Clover, I'm leaving you here on the Wilderness Road. Daniel Boone blazed this trail to the west so you might get a good ride out of here.

Do you reckon that Boone feller blazed away all them rattlesnakes as he went?

I declare , I'm beginning to think that you are afraid of snakes.

No Sir! I ain't scared of nothing or nobody.

So long my little brave friend.

Give me another chaw of that tobacker before you go. They say that stuff is good to put on a snake bite if a feller was to get bit, you know.

Clover, I think I will drop you off in one of those caches up on the knob. You will be surrounded by rattlesnakes and copperheads. You are not afraid of snakes are you?
I ain't afraid of nothing, but I ain't going onto no knob.
Why not?
Cause I'm a travelled man now and am just too danged sophisticated to be on the knob there surrounded by reptiles. Pass me another chaw of that store bought tobacker. Yes sir, I'm now just too sophisticated for that.
How about me dropping you off somewhere near the main road? Maybe someone will carry you of to New York City or maybe even Paris. What about that?
Do you reckon there would be rattlesnakes in them places?

Grabbed Clover from down in the tourist trap area. Won't move him too many miles but it will be like another world for him here in the mountains of Southwest Virginia.

We found Clover hitch-hiking at a gas station in Savannah, Georgia. As our destination was Gatlinburg, Tennessee, we thought Clover would fit right in with some of those wonderful Appalachian mountain folk. Indeed, he did. Clover decided to stick around for a while, so we left him fishing on the banks of the French Broad River.
