About This Item

Andy Warhol (1928 - 1987) was a painter, printmaker and filmmaker and a leading figure of the Pop Art movement in 1960. He started out in commercial illustration and produced images that would be found in magazine and newspaper ads.
 
He became famous for his work as a painter, filmmaker, record producer, author and for being friends with famous people. He coined the phrase “15 minutes of fame”.
Warhol made artworks which used household American products like Campbell Soup and Coca-Cola as their subjects. He also made portraits of celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Muhammad Ali and Elizabeth Taylor.
 
His studio in New York was called “The Factory” and he had assistants make his artwork so that he could produce more.
 
McMaster Museum of Art has a serigraph print of Wayne Gretzky and a painting called Hamburger by Andy Warhol.

    I found this geocache whilst participating in the first Australian contingent to travel to Switzerland to visit the scouting Disneyland that is the Kandersteg International scout centre. After travelling from Melbourne airport to Singapore and from Singapore to Zurich we completed this epic journey by taking the train to Bern then changing lines to Kandersteg. We are a contingent of roughly 200+ scouting members from ages 14-26, for me this has been a once in a lifetime trip that I will never truly forget. With many activities such as rock climbing, mountain climbing, shopping in Bern and even going to Italy just to mention a few of the experiences I have had on this trip. Anyways whilst this Australian geocacher is in Switzerland he may as well find some geocaches haha. I have loved finding every cache that I have found on this breathtaking and unforgettable journey that I share with not only Australian but international scouts. I can't wait to go out and find another cache in the beautiful country. Good luck in caching!
