This coin was originally a part of the 10/10/10 wetlands event held by the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. The goal was to raise awareness of the importance of preserving these natural areas.

I found it five years later in a cache along the Chicago River. Somehow it had slipped through the cracks and was never activated, it's just been floating around. I've now activated it and, as a tribute to the original event, I'm keeping the coin's mission the same as the others released on that day.
