Current Goal

The mission of this coin is to visit as many places that get SNOW! We have had a record amount of snow this year and this coin wants to visit all the caches that get the "white stuff'!

About This Item

The winter solstice occurs exactly when the Earth's axial tilt is farthest away from the sun at its maximum of 23° 26'. This occurs on the shortest day and longest night of the year, when the sun's daily maximum position in the sky is the lowest. This coins home definitely experiences WINTER SOLSTICE and I can hardly wait for this day because it means the days are getting longer again and spring is on its way!!! The Winter Solstice Festival is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese!

ALL OF THE SNOW!

Dropped in a cache surrounded by snow and ice! Certainly a place where Winter is evident. Very cold today, 2" of snow on the ground and temps around 20 degrees F, strong winds too!

I actually did not grab this coin - my 5 year old did. Funny how he knew he couldn't keep the coin, but wanted to help move it along. An appropriate coin as we a "winter sport family". Will pass it on soon.

Time for a trip to America! We drove from Quebec down to Montreal then through New York and finally to Pennsylvania where I live. We do get quite a bit a snow, but nothing like in Canada. Now is not the right time for it but I will upload some pics from this last winter and dip it in a cache that I hid when there was snow on the ground. Thanks for sharing!
