This Geocoin’s mission is to visit a cache in every county in Great Britain and then to visit a cache in every country that was part of the British Empire. Photographic evidence would be great and will create a visual diary of the coin's travels. Thanks.
This Geocoin was a gift to celebrate my 300th find, is heavier than it looks and measures 4cm in diameter.
The base metal of the coin is in silver and Britannia is sculpted in 3D plated in Gold effect metal to give her an amazing look. It has a hole off to one side that has been threaded with a chain attaching the coin to a keyring detailing its mission.
The rear of the coin has some information about the British Empire in its hey day and Lord Kitcheners famous quote. It also has the following message written around the edge:
REBUILDING THE EMPIRE ONE CACHE AT A TIME
The message on the reverse of the coin simply reads:-
By 1921, the British Empire held sway over a population of about 458 million people.
Approximately one-quarter of the world's population.
The sun never sets on the British Empire.
