<B>What a great [red]North Sydney Get Together![/red] (<a href=http://coord.info/GC39ZD6>GC39ZD6</a>)</b>
Good to meet new friends - I think I didn't know anyone personally although some of the cacher names were pretty familiar to me! Good to see you guys live! The Arkaroo seconds the many logged statements of a perfect day.

This bunch of geocachers seems to represent the environemntally responsible people, and those who not only go for numbers, but also the fun getting out there, and even write good logs - a bit more than TFTC! Even the many geokids present are educated into this direction - well done - it'll be of benefit for their later career! North Sydney Council is setting example for the care of the environment and living with the people. I have gathered plenty of brochures about the weeds, tree cutting, native plants, their regeneration and issues. The presentation highlighting some of the latter was great, and I could discuss hours about these topics. Yes, indeed, take care where you go, on which plant you may step - or better avoid to do so, and how to place a chache that it is both an adventure for the seeker and still environmentally responsible. It all depends on the general environment, how many people are there, frequency of access, etc. What may not be an issue at all far off the town on a rarely frequenced sea cliff may be a big distortion here off an official walking path in the city! A wild trampled path here or an unwanted 4WD track out there ... similar things ... we responsible geocachers have to educate the newcomers and outlayers - well done Geocaching New South Wales! I do care a lot about the environment and our natural ressources, and there is one thing we may wish to learn from the Aboriginal cultures: To live with nature, to be part of it - not to live against it with all means of business and modern technology!

Those who know me, I prefer the caches with some adventural effort ... abseiling, swimming, hiking ... Thought, here in the city, one of the experiences I have occasionally, but not always, is just cycling. Today I parked my car at Woolloomooloo, then riding along some of the most spectacular waterfronts in the world, across one of Australias national icons, the Harbour Bridge, and finally some challenging hills towards GZ. Although I live here since 8 years, it's still something unique, spectacular and enjoyable! Furthermore, the bike allows to move from cache to cache in a nice and efficient way ... no needs to find a parking spot.

TFTCM, North Sydney Council and Geocaching New South Wales, well done!
