Callahassee The Canadian Moose

Callahassee is travelling east across Canada through each of the provinces in search of other moose.  He desires to visit moose habitats, statues, real moose, stuffed moose, taxidermied moose, moose crossing signs, etc.  Also, be sure to share the rich history of Canada with him by bringing him to historic sights and other points of interest.  After logging your retrieval of Callahassee, please visit the post and select "Upload Image."  Here you can post photos of Callahassee with the above items and more!  Don't forget to tell the tale of Callahassee's journey, or even an interesting moose fact or moose experience of your own in your online log entry!  Following a tour around Newfoundland, Callahassee is to head back into Ontario and retire in Algonquin Park where he is to retrieved by LAGooniecachers.

"Callahassee The Canadian Moose" is Derin & Co.'s first travel bug.  Callahassee was erected in February 2011 in Vancouver, British Columbia and was inspired by the love of plush toy "Moosy" shared by their Norwich Terrier.  In the summer of 2008, Derin & Co. treeplanted in Nova Scotia.  On their journey to and from the province, they hoped to see a moose in the wild (An obsession that had sparked after a childhood  moose sighting at Algonquin Park during a family camping trip).  Although they were only seconds away from a sighting in New Brunswick, this dream did not come true.  This travel bug is an opportunity for you to share your moose experiences and sightings with Derin & Co. as well as the entire geocaching community!  Please enjoy your time spent with one of nature's most intriguing creatures.  Happy Geocaching!
