Honu: Otherwise known as the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle.
Being a diver I have often been mesmerized by the grace of the large animal gliding through the water and their ability to stay under at great depths with minimal air (I'm also a freediver so I am jealous of this :) ). Still considered an endangered species, they are growing in number and can be spotted just about any time you are near, in, or on the water. To many native Hawaiians the honu is considered an aumakua, or guardian spirit. The honu is also a sign of good luck and a symbol of endurance and longevity. Additionally, honu are excellent navigators; a necessary trait for any good geocacher.
