Situated in the Rhone valley, the Roman arch of Orange is one of the most beautiful and interesting surviving examples of a provincial triumphal arch from the reign of Augustus. It is decorated with low reliefs commemorating the establishment of the Pax Romana. Look at this adress :

In the depths of a cave, the first artists in the history of Humanity painted a masterpiece of horses, lions, rhinos and others animals, and captured them in action running, hunting and fighting. Not far from the original cave, 36000 years later, scientists, engineers and artists accomplished an unique feat in the world by reconstructing the Chauvet-Pont d'Arc Cave, registered at the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

Today I visit Arles which Roman monuments are registered at the UNESCO World Heritage Centre. This town is also famous in the world for the numerous and great pictures painted by Vincent Van Gogh, when he lived here. Le Pont de Langlois, one of his model, is now listed historical monument.
