All good things must come to an end, and it is with bittersweet feelings that we part with the Balloon Geocoin...here in a place where it is in balloon paradise. We've had a great time flying it around, but while it sits here only a stone's throw from the Fiesta Field, hundreds of different balloons will fly directly over it in just the next few days. We've been inspired to seek out, grab and fly more of the Temecula Valley balloon geocoins during our travels with our balloon. Thanks everyone involved for the great opportunity, and if you're ever in southern Mississippi, look us up for a flight!

Today, the Balloon Geocoin finally made the big time...the Albuquerque Fiesta! This was the first chance we had to fly in the recently repaired "Gravity's Rainbow"; Albuquerque weather until this morning has been atrocious! But it all paid off today.

  • Ready for takeoff... mbooda, the Balloon geocoin, the 4x4 to Albuquerque TB, and friends Robert and Pam Pendzimaz are ready to fly!
  • ...and in Albuquerque's City in the Sky! The Balloon Geocoin heads for Fiesta Field with mbooda and the 4x4 to Albuquerque TB.

Picking the coin back up to head west!

  • In the repair shop This is Dave's balloon repair shop in Fayetteville, GA. That's Dave on the left. The flash kinda obscured the geocoin. Dave's apprentice is on the right (she's also his eldest daughter). Those are balloon envelopes on the ground. The blue-bagged one is mbooda's, "Gravity's Rainbow", freshly repaired and ready for Albuquerque! We'll be seeing more of it.
  • Safe and sound The balloon Geocoin spent the night in a micro. The Bluebeard Viking TB stood guard outside!

Before heading to Albuquerque, we'll make a quick trip to Fayetteville, GA to see something related...a balloon repair station! Will try to take pix.

I wish I could have been on that baloon race in Texas. My wife and I have been talking about going to the one in New Mexico. Maybe one day that part of flying will come true. Definitely quieter than the Cessna 172 I used to fly.
Don't know if I can get the baloon in the air, but sure will try to keep it moving.
Thanks for putting this beautiful coin out there.
