This travel bug "Chasqui" traveled with me across the United States on my bicycle. I left San Francisco, CA on June 8, 2003 and finished in Portsmouth, NH on July 29, 2003. I have raised close to $40,000 for Chasqui Humanitarian and would like to see this wooden "Chasqui" go back to Peru where he came from. Information on Chasqui Humanitarian is included in the Travel Bug packet.
Wooden carving of an Incan Chasqui or messenger. The two feathers on the top of the carving were broken in transit on the bike trip. If you would like to see where he traveled on the bike ride across the US, visit www.chasqui.org and click on Sandy's Journal. This wooden statue has had quite a summer!

Must've seen this in a cache somewhere, as I had the code written down in my geocaching notebook. It seems it is now in a archived cache. Hopefully you can find away to get it back, good luck!

We've placed Chasqui in a new cache with lots of other goodies. His ultimate destination is Macchu Picchu, but perhaps he would want to stop by and visit his owner first. He started in San Francisco, traveled to the east coast and is almost all the way back to S.F. Seems like a reunion would be a nice thing.
I showed him the pictures of his owner and his travels (on Chasqui's website) and he very much enjoyed reliving his journey.
Good luck, Chasqui!

We picked up Chasqui several weeks ago and in case you're wondering about his whereabouts, this is an update on his status. Chasqui has been enjoying a brief, well-deserved rest after traveling across the country and back. We have been trying to find just the right cache for him, but he's kind of a big boy (as one might expect of a warrior)and we're surrounded by only micro-caches. But, never fear. We have our eye on one cache known to be large and although we have not yet had success in finding it, we will persevere!

We found Chasqui near South Lake Tahoe and now he's nearly back to where he started. Perhaps the next person can start him on his southward journey to Machu Piccu.

Retrieved this travel bug and plan to take it with us to Santa Cruz (California, not Bolivia) to place in a cache there. I believe it will be loads of fun. The kid is all excited to help this foriegn traveller on his way!
