The Florida Landmarks Series Geocoins 2006 were designed by macdonr & Mac. of Lakeland, Florida, USA. The icon for the Florida Landmarks Series is a black swan, symbolic of the swans of Lakeland, Florida. Lakeland has a large swan population, including black and white swans, and many of them live on lakes near downtown. The swans were celebrated most famously in 2001-2003 with the Swansation public art project.
