Current Goal

***** RECALL *****
Please direct this geocoin toward GCWQJK ("Dead Pixels") alongside I-75 in Estero, Florida. Any Fort Myers/Naples area cache can be used as an alternate.

Old goal: Uter is an exchange student, as apparent by the Gump haircut and the lederhosen. Help Uter see the sights.

Uter particularly likes anything European, and anything to do with food. Overseas travel is okay; in fact, he wouldn't mind enjoying a schnitzel at Oktoberfest.

About This Item

Uter

As with all travelbugs, try to place this back in another cache within a week (two at the most) of acquiring it. This allows a larger number of people to be able to find the travelbug(s) and assist them on their travels. If you have a particular location in mind you would like to take Uter which may require more than a couple weeks, send me a quick e-mail. I'm usually in a very accepting mood when I know what's going on. Thanks in advance.

We have UTER safely in the Poconos. He will visit a few fairs in the next week or so and have some funnel cake before moving on.

Uter left July 10 for a backpack trip on the Appalachian Trail from the Susquehanna River to Port Clinton and then the Delaware Water Gap south on the AT. He had a great time meeting lots of thru-hikers. Believe it or not, we ran into some problems hiking on a hot day with a lack of water. We were planning on a water fill at Delp's spring but to our dismay, the spring was bone dry and we had miles to cover! We made a decision to put Uter at the Appalachian Trail Maintenance site located at N 40° 48.747 and W 075° 28.648. Our goal had been to take him to Appalachian Spur am Blauen Berg. Sorry!! Hopefully, someone will move him. He is very close!

a recent log from "Höchste Spitze am Blauen Marsh See"

August 6 by docdaisy & mapmaker
Found cache on this beautiful cool August afternon. Nice hike to the summit. DD & I enjoyed the ourselves in Blue Marsh. Uter is gone as indicated, so we left alligator and something else??? and took chalk (to match the crayons we took elsewhere) and little PSU magnet. Also hide the cache a little better than it was hide before... At same spot but just covered better than it had been. Thanks. MM&DD

Hmmmm .... to the cache owner, please note a log in the cache, quoted below. Perhaps some intervention is needed to correct the digital track log?

Picked up Uter on July 8 and took him to Community Days in Shillington. He enjoyed the sausage sandwich! Uter then traveled to Philadelphia for the Cirque Du Soleil show, Allegria! He was amazed at the talented performers. He has had a good breakfast and is on his way to the Appalachian Trail. We will begin our adventure at Harrisburg!

This is another in Schneeberg Wasserman's series of excellent caches. I did Das Laureldale GebirgscGipfe many moons ago, so now that I have found Höchste Spitze am Blauen Marsh See, it is time to tackle Appalachian Spur am Blauen Berg.

(I am just showing off to Uter with all of these German words!)

This cache is notoriously unhealthy for TBs, so Uter said he didn't want to stay here. (Personally, I think he only said that since there wasn't any food in the cache!)

  • while Uter read the map, he noticed a German cache It is called: Höchste Spitze am Blauen Marsh See

I'll be taking Uter to some tourist spots in the near future...that is, if he doesn't get made into bratwurst or sauerbraten first :) (evil laugh)...
