About This Sponsored Trackable:
Helping millions of people save money with GEICO's great insurance rates can be a demanding job for a Gecko. Like many of us, the GEICO Gecko is ready to get out of the office and soak up some sun while experiencing spectacular places around the world (well, rain or shine). You can help the Gecko get a little R&R by aiding his travel from cache to cache. Be sure to show him the great views along the way!
This trackable Gecko is provided by GEICO as part of the "Find the Gecko Sweepstakes." Simply fill out the entry form and you could win a Magellan eXplorist GC GPS unit, one of the most popular GPS devices for geocaching! There will be one unit given away each week for 20 weeks. Enter each week to increase your chances!

To take this key to caches across the United States searching for the Ford Explorer it fits ... kinda like trying to find the right girl to wear the glass slipper.
This trackable is a tribute to my first vehicle ... an orange 1976 Ford Explorer pickup that I bought it new when I was 17. It had a CB radio, 8-track and wagon wheels. Someone gave me an 8-track tape of Ray Stevens' greatest hits and we listened to it in the truck all the time. On the playlist was "The Streak" -- so I named my truck Ethel after the lady in the song. My CB handle was even "Explorer."
Alas, Ethel is gone, done in back in 1991 by a nursing student who was late for class on a rainy day. She thought it proper to turn an interstate exit ramp into the passing lane so she could get around a semi. The only problem was I was in Ethel ahead of the semi. She bumped me right into the retaining wall and just like that ... Ethel was gone.
I wish the girl all the best, but hope Geico isn't insuring her today.
