After more than three years traveling the world, this travel bug finally returned to its home on the South Island of New Zealand!!! However, its adventure did not stop there. It visited the Te Anau area before sadly perishing in fire at the Kaiapoi Historic Geometry
cache north of Christchurch. Thanks to the heroic efforts of BaldEd, the TB tag was rescued from the charred remains of the fire and attached to this little kiwi. Please help him find his way across the ocean to Durham, North Carolina.
The original travel bug was a New Zealand Telecom phonecard with a photo of a yellow-eyed penguin. It was purchased and used during an incredible trip to the South Island in January 2004. (Click here for some trip photos.) With thanks to BaldEd, the travel bug has now morphed into a little kiwi bird basketball player.

After a successful show in Wanaka, I have decided to leave the opera world and complete my original mission. To get to Te Anau! Please come get me at Loud Meg's and take me that last little bit south.

What an adventure! I'm touring with NZ Opera's Don Pasqale. I have visited caches in Rotorua, Tauranga, Wellington and now Blenheim. I can smell the air of Te Anau approaching, but first I'll do a round robin of south island cities to see if there might be a career for me on the stage. Who knows, I might get discovered. I may hop off the tour in Invercargill and head south to my penguin relatives in Antarctica!

After visiting the Emperor Penguin inmates at Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic exhibit in Auckland, Aotearoa Bound has decided to hitch a ride south with the NZ Tour of Don Pasquale. After 2 years and 4 months, will our Yellow Eyed friend at last make it home in the south island, or will the lure of the opera lights keep the journey going? Stay tuned...

I mistakenly logged this TB into "Winstone Walkabout". It should be in "Urban Oasis", so I'll put it where it belongs. Thanks to Danger Mousse for confirming the real whereabouts of the TB.

Although the log for this TB says that I placed it in "Winstone Wander", I think I have made a mistake. I'm pretty sure I placed it in "Urban Oasis" in Auckland. I'm trying to sort it out.
