This bag contains a rock brought back from Mykonos, Greece. It is also protected by the Evil Eye (zipper).
The most popular form of protection against the evil eye is a charm. Coloured blue - the colour to ward off the evil eye - it is painted with an “eye” that supposedly reflects the evil. These charms are available in a variety of forms, from personal jewellery to different sized and shaped pieces to hang inside cars or on walls. Some people cement evil eye charms into their driveways. Although the Greek Orthodox Church states the only form of protection is a crucifix or a religious icon from a church or monastery, the evil eye charm is very popular and visible all over Greece and Turkey.

Spent a few weeks in Greece in 1986 and again in 1988. Had quite a good time on Mykonos. Don't remember too many details except that it was a "party island." And I wanted to be sure to enjoy that reputation of such a great island! Is the rock really from Mykonos? TB in good shape...I just had to darken the lettering on the rock.

Saw this at the 7th Annual GeoRoc Holiday Family Event in No. Greece, NY. Lots has happened since I saw the TB. I had brain surgery on 12/12/13 after falling on ice and hitting my head on cement. It'll be a while before I can geocache again. Thanks for sharing this item. I must state that I wasn't geocaching when I fell but was going to church.
