A holiday in the sun 😎
It had been a lazy week up to today - just chilling on the beach by day and a nice meal and a few cocktails by night. 😛
Today I needed a cache for the day grid so we booked a hire care and set off in the sunshine to grab a few caches and drive around the beautiful island of Thassos. We found two caches, [url=http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=97cd60df-56d6-445f-82a8-3f3abbebdef4]Gate of Zeus and Hera[/url] and [url=http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=9bb974b0-85bc-43c1-a304-ff921a415b0e]Agora Limenas Thasou[/url] both near ancient ruins and flip flops definitely weren't the best footwear. There were prickly things and loose stones so we had to tread carefully. 🤡
After refreshments overlooking the harbour in Thassos Town we headed up to Aliki Beach where we had a DNF on the multi [url=http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=ff9a4c38-1dda-475c-ad3c-a1a8a76ef765]Aliki[/url] so after a mooch around the ancient remains we enjoyed a nice lunch overlooking the sea 👍
The rest of the caches were inland - and whilst driving in Thassos is relatively easy - there is just one main road around the outside of the island, no traffic lights, no roundabouts and no parking restrictions - just 120km of decent road and a few crazy Greek drivers 😛 but the roads inland towards the mountains are nothing more than dirt tracks - and we've been there before 😉 so it was back to the beach to relax 😁
