Current Goal

To visit with as many different geocachers as possible before coming back home to the Cleveland, OH area by the end of 2005. This TB has traveled to so many interesting places that I extended its travel time.

Quilted Mariner's Star

The Mariner's Compass is a well known quilt block which is perfect for a travel bug. We released it at our first find where our geocaching adventure began. May it travel to wherever the compass points.

Quilted Mariner's Star has now made its way back to Germany. This is a brand new cache in the area, so i am sure it will be picked up very soon for its next adventure.

I have had this TB for awhile; took it to Tel Aviv, Israel a week ago but ran out of time to go caching (those darn business meetings got in the way!!). A few days ago i had a weekend in Shanghai, but also ran out of time to go to the one traditional cache near downtown Shanghai, so thought at the very least i should log the Mariner's Star near one of the world's busiest ports. Here is also a pic of the Star resting on the Virtual Cache tourist looking up at the Orient Pearl Tower, Pudong, Shanghai.

HaSa and I went to "First Maschee Cache" in Hannover just before going to a business meeting nearby. Between the 2 of us, we had 5 TBs to leave at the cache, but the container was way too small, so we left 2, HaSa took 2 and I took the Quilted Mariner's Star. Now that return date has expired (June 2004!), maybe eventually it will get back to the USA. In the mean time, maybe it will travel for awhile longer around Europe!

This took quite some time, but I had a major software issue with my Garmin GPS and couldn´t make any caches. So the star was travelling quite a distance with me but I could log it. But finally dropped in on a very nice place, like the one I picked it up. My be it´s easier from here to reach it´s goal even the distance has increased.

Mariner's Star must have been in the hands of a smoker for a long time. When we opened the Zip-loc, there was a strong smell of smoke. We'll air it out and move it along.
